Codice Laguna is a transformative landscape architecture project spanning approximately 1300m by 180m southeast of Chioggia’s center. Rooted in the land-water symbiosis, it aims to mend the western building fabric, crafting a 1.3 km waterfront marked by seriality, offering a dynamic balance through a pictorial composition of justified fields along the future Via dei Ghezzi, fostering a harmonious relationship between urban living and natural surroundings.

Built Area: 59,200 sqm
In the expansive intervention area, stretching approximately 1300 meters in length and 180 meters in width, the southeastern sector of Chioggia’s center unfolds. This locale, in close proximity to and visually tethered with the city hub, significantly dictates the choices in composing the envisioned concept. Chioggia’s morphological identity is intricately interwoven with the symbiotic relationship between land and water, giving rise to elongated, narrow blocks embraced by intersecting roads.
A meticulous examination of the surrounding context assumes paramount significance in crafting a concept aimed at rectifying the architectural fabric to the west of the project’s expanse. The overarching goal is to yield a 1.3-kilometer waterfront characterized by a deliberate interplay of repetition and distinction, meticulously balancing the interplay of solids-voids and density-rarefaction. This equilibrium, dynamic and intricate both in its horizontal and vertical dimensions, is a pivotal aspect. The groundwork design stands as a pivotal nexus between the lagoon and the urban expanse, forming an inseparable bond with the residential component to articulate a cohesive system.
Hence, the inception of CODICE LAGUNA, an artistic landscape that unfolds as an assembly of fields, seamlessly aligned and narrated along the prospective Via dei Ghezzi, the backbone of this comprehensive system. The configuration of these fields draws inspiration from myriad traces within the parcel, mirroring the geometric patterns inherent in the fields surrounding Chioggia. The project, in its essence, adopts a strict adherence to pictorial composition, establishing a robust connection between proximate elements and the distant backdrop.
